Lasting Value

Yes, I will make a mathematical model to determine which choice is optimal. But I have found that the organization gets even more value during the process of creating the  model -- long before we push the final "calculate" button. 

The disciplined thinking that is required to represent the problem in formulas and equations makes sure that nothing is overlooked. And typically this process inspires the organization to think up new and better choices than were being considered at the start.
